So the government has given the big go-ahead to build a third runway at London Heathrow airport. Obviously there are green concerns with more air traffic and hence more pollution. That said, it will create a few jobs as well in response to the recent economic downturn. But can the BAA really afford it? It is a bit unclear on how this is going to be funded and what the cost is for the project. I am a bit concerned if BAA should happen to get in trouble will the government bail them out too?
The whole thing with Prince Charles calling a friend "Sooty" to me is beyond a joke. The media have gone too political correct for my liking. Mind you, this was only days after Prince Harry called a Pakistani member of his platoon, Paki. That was far enough, Harry getting in trouble for that. But for Charles and Sooty? Well Kolin Dhillon, whom Charles calls Sooty is a good friend and more importantly Sooty can definitely be used in a affectionate way. I mean how have everyone forgotten Sooty bear.
The funniest headline is a photo of Prince Charles saying "Hello Sooty" with Dhillon responding "Get lost big ears". (Big ears being another children's character and friend of Noddy.
ADSL. In the UK, the main adsl guide site is thinkbroadband, which includes a test for the speed of your adsl connection . Thinkbroadband used to be known adslguide.org.uk. For more guides of a worldwide flavour, have a look at DSL ISP Guide and Thelist broadband.
Astoria. Well looks like it's goodbye to the London Astoria as it finally succumbs to the crossrail project.
