Random Musings - Day #361

Irony
Looks like Joe McElderry was merely delayed the inevitable as takes "the climb" up to #1. Certain amount of irony is that despite Rage against the machine denying him the topspot for the Christmas #1.
Also ironic is they have been showing clips of Michael Jackson announcing his "this is it" tour as his "final curtain call..." I'm afraid that was it!

Also never ask someone, "where you can find mr happy, in a store". Don't be surprised if someone removes their pants as a consequence!

Random Musings - Day #333

You can move like Michael Jackson.
Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band (The official Children in Need Medley) defies the odds slightly by not appearing on x-factor and knocks off the x-factor finalists from the top. Jason Derulo is back at #3 with "Whatcha say"

Random Musings - Day #307

Rested up. I saw "This is it" and generally impressed with the dancing and singing. It was a wee bit long but other than it was great. I mean I wish I could move the way the way he did when I am 50. Of course I'd rather be alive at 50.
Talking of dance and singing, catch this cartoon video of "I feel good" and there's an interesting mashup of britney and bobby for "My prerogative"

Interesting to see how the team of Andy Murray and Laura Robson fair as they are confirmed to represent GB in the Hopman Cup.

It's true, the most expensive train ticket in the UK is over a grand

Random Musings - Day #188

Michael Jackson now has 13 songs in the UK Top 40. But only "Man in the mirror" is in the top 10 at #2. Cascada is back and at #1 with "Evacuate the dancefloor".

Mark Cavendish won his second stage of the Tour de France. Don't know what was with the victory celebration as he crossed the line. He made an expressionless phone gesture. Wonder if he was calling home. Amazingly despite 2 wins out of the first 3 stages, he is only 142nd in the general standings.

Carphone Warehouse. I am trying to do the math here but there is a deal where you can get an 18 month contract for 15 pounds per month (15Gb monthly limit) which includes a free 499 pounds. So the total cost of the contract is 270 pounds, which makes me wonder how the hell they are making money!
There must be a catch!

Random Musings - Day #179

Finding a blood-sucking fish in the rivers should be bad news but apparently it's good news because it demonstrates that the water quality is good.

Skanking is another form that is making the rounds. You can even learn how to do the migraine skank, jungle skank and even the swine flu skank.

La Roux debuted at #1 on the UK charts with "Bulletproof" but that's been overshadowing by Michael Jackson's death and as a consequence had no-less than 6 entries in the top 40 singles chart with "Man in the mirror" being the pick at #11.

Random Musings - Day #176

Michael Jackson died after a sudden heart attack. That sad. There has been a question about his health ever since it was announced he would play 50 shows at the o2. Now he perform none. That's no stop sales of MJ tickets. Apparently someone has bid 10 million pounds for it.

Unfortunately Farrah Fawcett died as well. She of the original Charlie's Angels fame and generally nice curly hair had been battling anal cancer. That's arguably more sadder especially as her death will likely be overshadowed by Michael Jackson's.

There are several places that provide free wireless and here's the cheap mobile broadband that illustrates this.

Random Musings - Day #110

Britain's got fixed... err Talent
Shaheen Jafargholi appeared on Britain's got Talent and performed in the end two songs. The original song, "Valerie" was actually poorly sung. The kid wasn't sung in time at all and actually Simon Cowell was right to stop him and ask him a second song. He sung "Who's loving you" by Michael Jackson. He nailed it, which makes for good TV.
However, it turns out much to my disappointment that he played Michael Jackson in the musical about him. So I smell a rat... definitely a roust. Even if it wasn't played up for TV, I don't think it's fair that someone like him (no matter how young he is) who has already has had some success in the entertainment business should be allowed to take part in this competition. I've read in the newspaper that he also has been in Torchwood and Casualty. Oh look he's got an IMDB entry. Not impressed!
I really hope Susan Boyle wins... unless she happens to have been singing on behalf of Lesley Garrett or Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.

24
Probably a spoiler but we've reached episode 18 of 24/7. There's a huge twist. So if you want to see my thoughts on this, you'll have to highlight the space below.

Tony Almeida kills the head of the FBI department and needs the bioweapon cannister to give to the people he is working for. That is unknown. Also unknown is who is working for. Most people in the forum thinks he's been bad all along. Initially when he turned out to be working with the ex-CTU gang, Bill and Chloe, he admitted his character wasn't 100% clean, which left the way for a turn back to the evil side. I forgot about that particularly as he's been working with Jack Bauer.
Who may be helping him. Janis? Well she's not done anything of any significance. Chloe? She's disappeared. Apparently new character Cara Bowden played by Amy Price-Fisher is going to be a co-conspirator.
However, I am beginning to like the sound of the idea of.... Kim Bauer? Why? Reason #1, She said she has been looking for Jack Bauer, which naturally gives her an excuse to be in the area. Reason #2, Tony asked about Kim, possibly to make sure she is in place. Reason #3 and perhaps the important reason, a decent plot-line for Elisha Cuthbert.

Hull
Along time ago, December 11th 2008, I told my workmates that Hull City would get relegated even though they were in 7th position at the time. Much to everyone's merryment, they won their next game. However look where they are now, 16th and plummeting fast. If only I had the sense to put some money behind it. I think it was like 5/1 at the time.

Random Musings - Day #78

78 rpm
As it's day #78, let's look at the old gramophone record, which originally span at 78 revolutions per minute (rpm). (Late on in history, it was primarily used at 33 1/3 and 45 rpm.

Marmite/Twiglets
Last night, someone introducing me to dipping stuff in Marmite. Twiglets are very nice and taste like Marmite but dip them in Marmite sounds crazy but actually isn't too bad. There's even a recipe for Marmite Chicken.

Tours
Just a thought and perhaps a concern about Michael Jackson. Remember originally he was supposed to do 10 dates only and now it's 50, which really begs the question is health up for it, considering his original planned tenure at the o2.
Talking of being up for it, Tina Turner is still around and touring and gigging.

Freshie
I didn't know what someone was going on about when they were talking about someone being a freshie.

Higham
I didn't know there was a bus (735/736) that goes from Higham to London. I got completely lost in Higham. It's a real sleepy village!

Random Musings - Day #65

Michael Jackson is back and a badder than ever as he announced he will performing (for the last time) in London for a number of dates during the summer.
Ray Parker Jr's Ghostbusters has been remixed on the back of the 118 campaign. Three beatboxers have combined their efforts with the main man.
The current Barclays ad about the guy going down the water tube is spot on
as the current bank credit crunch sees all our money go down the tube. ;)

We all know his on and off the pitch activities have been criminal (ask
Cheryl Cole and Arsenal) but it looks like Ashley Cole has got in trouble
with the law once more.
