This was to commemorates primarily Burns Night, a celebration of the birth of
Robert Burns on 25th January, 1759. Speeches (aka immortal memory) are a feature of a Burns Supper and the gov.uk website lists a special "
Burns Night Speech. Notable for his speeches, particularly his "We shall fight on the beaches", Sir Winston Churchill passed away 60 years ago on January 24th.
